Q:What do you mean by “All Wood Cabinetry™”?
A:All Wood Cabinetry is exactly that, each cabinet is
constructed from CARB2 compliant, furniture grade, plywood and solid
hardwood face frames. Visit our Quality page to see more details.
These are new, wood cabinets, professionally built by our trained cabinet builders.
Q:What are Factory Assembled Cabinets?
A:Assembled Semi-Custom cabinets are conventional face frame construction,
factory built to order, just for you! They feature a plywood box and solid hardwood drawers
with dovetail carpentry joints. Semi-Custom cabinets are fully assembled by our skilled
cabinet builders and rigorously inspected before shipping direct to your home or jobsite.
They are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Q:What are the painted/thermo doors made from?
A:Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is used for painted or thermo-foil doors.
MDF has similar characteristic to hardwood, but can be profiled more precisely and is much more
structurally stable – which makes it ideal for the intricate paneling found in painted or
thermo-foil doors. There is also less chance of door components moving, due to changes in
temperature or humidity, which reduces the risk of cracks appearing in the durable painted finish.
-
Thermo-foil doors and drawer fronts are constructed from solid MDF and
sealed with a durable and hygienic vinyl ‘thermo-foil’. The thermo-foil finish is a thick
vinyl laminate which seals the face and profiles of the doors and drawer fronts.
-
Shaker doors and drawer fronts feature a 3” wide solid MDF frame with a
flat recessed center panel of painted MDF.
-
Miter frame doors and drawer fronts feature a 2-3/4” wide solid MDF
frame with a solid MDF raised center panel.
-
9-Piece doors and drawer fronts feature a 2-1/2" wide solid MDF frame
with an MDF applied molding. The raised center panels are also constructed from solid MDF.
Q:What are the stained doors made from?
A:We use a combination of solid hardwood birch and premium quality
Medium Density Fiberboard, also known as ‘MDF’. Solid hardwood is used for our stained,
raised panel doors, and the frames of our stained shaker doors.
-
Shaker style doors with a stained wood grain finish feature a 3"
wide solid birch frame with a flat recessed center panel of birch veneer over MDF.
This makes the center panels more precise and provides a solid base for the hand
selected natural wood veneers.
-
Miter frame door styles with a stained wood grain finish feature a
2-3/4" wide solid birch frame with a solid birch raised center panel.
-
9-Piece door styles with a stained wood grain finish feature a 2-1/2"
wide solid birch frame with a solid birch applied molding. The raised center panels
are also constructed from solid birch staves.
Q:What are the Metropolitan doors made from?
A:We use a combination of furniture board and premium quality
Medium Density Fiberboard, also known as ‘MDF’. Furniture board is used for our matte finishes
and wood grain textured finishes like Platinum and Glacier. MDF is used for our finishes that
require the highest degree of smoothness like the High Gloss White or Satin Touch Monument.
Q:What type of drawers are in All Wood Cabinetry™?
A:All Wood Cabinetry’s 4-sided drawer boxes are constructed from 5/8”
thick solid hardwood featuring dovetail carpentry joints and a fully captured 1/4"
thick MDF floor. Our top drawers provide some of the best storage out there. With a
4-3/8” deep box we beat out most of our competition. All Wood drawers glide smoothly
on concealed full extension runners and feature a “soft close” shock buffer. Visit
the Quality page for more details regarding cabinet construction.
Q:What is the interior finish of the cabinets?
A:All cabinets feature a sanitary, wipe-clean natural maple laminated
interior finish. There is no need for shelf paper or shelf liner material. Visit
our Quality page for complete construction specifications.
Q:Is this cabinetry KCMA approved?
A:All Wood Cabinetry is KCMA and HUD approved and proudly displays
the KCMA certification seal.
Q:Are these cabinets strong enough to support a granite top?
A:Our assembled semi-custom cabinets insure the strength required
to support any countertop material that you may select, and no additional
reinforcing is required.
Q:Will my shelves sag if loaded with heavy dishes or can goods?
A:All Wood Cabinetry shelves are 3/4" thick, cross-laminated plywood
for maximum strength. Shelves are supported on high strength locking shelf rests
and cabinets 30” and wider have an additional back support rest to resist sagging.
The locking shelf supports prevent the shelves from tipping so nothing can slide
out from the cabinets. Each cabinet is designed to safely hold 500 pounds of contents.
Q:Why do the cabinets come with full depth base shelves?
A:All Wood Cabinetry wants to provide you with the best in quality
and value. Full depth base shelves double the storage capacity found in most cabinets
at this price point.
Q:What is the “Soft Close” door feature?
A:All cabinets are supplied with doors that have a SOFT CLOSE door
shock buffer that prevents doors from being slammed shut. This buffer gently engages
the door and quietly closes it much like a door closer on a screen door. Visit our
Quality page to view this deluxe feature.
Q:What if I accidently scratch or dent my cabinetry?
A:A Customer Care
kit is included with every order and is packed inside the sink base cabinet. This
kit includes a fill stick, touch-up pen and care and cleaning instructions. Also
included are additional shelf clips and door bumpers in the event any are misplaced
during installation. Review our Care
guide for more information.
Q:What kind of warranty comes with my cabinetry?
A:All Wood Cabinetry features a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Visit our
Warranty page for more information.
Q:How do I adjust the doors and drawers on my cabinetry?
A:Door and drawer adjustment is very simple and only requires a Phillips
screwdriver. Review our Care guide
for step by step adjustment instructions.
Q:I want to move my roll-out trays, but don’t know how to do it?
A:Our base cabinets have two settings for roll-out trays for optimal storage.
Tall utility cabinets have multiple roll-out tray placements. Review
our Care guide for more information.
Q:Do I need a Finished Panel for the exposed cabinet sides?
A:All cabinetry features a laminated exterior finish that matches the face frame, so an
additional finished panel is not required. To create a more custom look, you may
consider adding matching end panels which replicate the look
of the cabinet door.
Q:Why do I require a separate Toe Kick cover?
A:All base cabinets and tall cabinets are constructed with an unfinished
integral toe kick for additional strength and durability. You will require a “Matching
Toe Kick”, to give you a seamless finish. You may also finish the toe kick
area with alternative materials such as ceramic tile or vinyl cove.
Q:Order Changes?
A:Items on an order may be changed if the order is not scheduled for
production. Order changes will incur a $110 processing charge plus any charges for
product, if there is a refund due the $110 will be deducted from the refund. Any
order changes may delay shipment.
